I’ve been obsessed with Golden Goose Deluxe Brand for a while. They were established in the year 2000 after the collaboration between Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in Italy. Over the years, they have evolved into a major designer brand with flagship stores in multiple countries, and it’s one that many fashion lovers are drawn to.
I’ve kept an eye on Golden Goose for some time and I would often check out the collection on FarFetch, as they always had an amazing selection, but I never ended up getting any because I always thought they were quite expensive and looked too similar to Converse, so they were always shoes that were just in the back of my mind. Some time back, Adam was the one who originally loved the brand and he actually got his first pair of their Superstar sneakers last year, which was what inspired me to look into them more. Having seen his in person and seeing how each pair of their shoes is completely unique because they’re artisanal, I was even more curious. As the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers are pre-distressed and made to look used and abused, they are all hand done so they’re truly one-of-a-kind. Some have heavier wear than others, so each pair is unpredictable.
If you’re buying at a store, it might be a good idea to ask to see a few of the same shoe and select from them, but if you’re ordering online, you have to trust the surprise!The pair of sneakers that I originally fell in love with first are the ones above in the main image, as they’ve been available for years, but I never ended up purchasing them.
My first sneaker crush was the one shown in the main image, and although they’ve remained on the market for ages, I somehow didn’t buy them. I’m eyeing a black version at the moment, but since I already have black canvas Converse, I’m torn about whether it’s worth owning both, even if they serve different vibes.
